Mia B. — Built From Scratch

I was born in Bulgaria. I packed my whole life in a box, moved to a country where I didn't speak the language, and built myself from scratch. I became a mother at 40, and somewhere in all of that, decided that reinvention wasn't a crisis — it was a gift.

I didn't come to writing through ease. I came through the kind of hard years that either break you or turn you into someone you actually want to be. My mother worked two jobs to push me toward independence. She passed away before I could give her the life I promised. I carry that promise in everything I build.

Today I run my own business, raise a daughter who makes me laugh every single day, and write honestly about this stage of life — the messiness of it, the magic of it, and the quiet revolution of a woman who finally stopped waiting for permission.

There are friends who tell you what you want to hear. And then there is Tina.

She is the woman who picks up on the third ring, who will not let you leave the house borrowing someone else's energy, and who has a way of saying the thing nobody else dares to say — with so much love that you can't even be upset about it.
